Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to have recognize the Body when composing an email message using Chrome? For some reason, it will not recognize it as a text field and although I can tab to it, it will not switch to text entry mode.

It's possible I am doing something wrong but it would be nice to get this working.

Hi All,

I wanted to update everyone on the issue of not being able to enter text directly in to an email message body when using Dragon.

You can resolve the issue by turning off the dictation box in Dragon Professional Individual. This could be inconvenient though because you may find that other applications might need the dictation box checked. If you change this and find something else does not work that did work before the change, you could check enable it again in Dragon to see if it works.

  1. Open Dragon
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Click on Options
  4. Click on Miscellaneous on the left menu
  5. UN-CHECK the box that says, "Use the Dictation Box for unsupported applications"
  6. Click OK

It's actually a workaround Respondus had for using it with LockDown Browser enabled Quizzes which helps with Brightspace Respondus enabled quizzes.

It's stupid question time, but can things be turned on and off in Dragon in specific apps or on specific websites? I know JAWS can do stuff like that, so I wondered if Dragon had a similar functionality. Hopefully that would make the workaround less likely to break other stuff until we can work with Dragon to find a fix.

I don't see that as an option, maybe with Dragon Anywhere? Perhaps someone in this group more familiar with Dragon may have a ready answer. If not, I can see what I can find.
