Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone has information regarding how accessible Brightspace is to someone using Naturally Speaking for navigation? Are there any particular recommendations or challenges to be aware of?

Thanks for any information you care to share.

Have a GREAT day!
Kathy

Hi. Thanks for the message.

Learners and instructors can access and use Brightspace using Dragon Naturally Speaking. Here's a sample video of a user submitting an assignment using DragonNS (https://www.youtube.com/embed/Os-joVsAmAY). We have been actively including testing with native users of speech input since a couple of years following our partnership with Fable Tech Labs (https://www.makeitfable.com/).
We would love feedback on issues faced by Dragon users in your school, especially about situations where

  1. speaking out the visible field name while filling a form does not result in focus falling into the input field; and
  2. using the mouse-grid is required multiple times to focus on a click area.

We'd be interested in any feedback you might have.
